🌿 Gentle Hike

Approx. 2.5–4 hours

Relaxed hiking for guests who want to enjoy Aso-Kuju’s grasslands, wetlands and mountain scenery without a demanding mountain climb.

Possible routes:
Kusasenri · Kishimadake · Kuroiwa and other suitable routes

Price (per person)

🥾 Mountain Hike

Approx. 4–5 hours

For active travellers comfortable with longer trails, moderate climbs and mountain terrain.

Kishimadake · Eboshidake · Kuroiwa · Mt. Waita · selected Mimata routes and others

⛰️ Mountain Trek

Approx. 6–9 hours

A more challenging mountain experience for active hikers looking for longer routes, summit experiences and demanding terrain.

Routes and hiking times are approximate. The best route depends on your hiking experience, fitness level, season, weather and trail conditions. After receiving your request, we will recommend the most suitable route and confirm the final itinerary and price with you.

【What to Bring】

• Comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the season
• Hiking shoes or trail shoes with good grip are required.
  Please wear footwear suitable for uneven, rocky and potentially wet or slippery mountain trails.
  Sandals and high-heeled shoes are not permitted.
• Small backpack
• Personal drinking water – please bring enough water for your hike
• Rainwear
• Hat and sunscreen
• Warm layer during cooler seasons

Equipment requirements vary depending on the selected route and season. We’ll provide more detailed information once your hiking route is confirmed

1–12 guests 

For larger groups, please contact us. Depending on the selected route and group size, additional guides may be required for safety.

Children may participate depending on their age, hiking experience and the selected route. Please contact us in advance if travelling with children.

【Meeting point】

The meeting point varies depending on your selected hiking route.

Once your route is confirmed, we will provide the exact meeting location and Google Maps link.

If you are staying in the Aso-Kuju area, please let us know your accommodation when making your request. We can advise you on the most convenient meeting point.

Reservation & Payment

Submitting a reservation request does not confirm your booking.

After receiving your request, we will check guide availability and the suitability of the requested tour. We will then contact you to confirm your reservation.

Please pay the tour fee in cash on the day of your tour.

Weather & Safety Policy

• Our hiking tours may operate in light rain, depending on the selected route and trail conditions. Please bring appropriate rainwear and outdoor clothing.
• For your safety, the route may be changed, shortened or cancelled due to severe weather, strong winds, snow, poor trail conditions, volcanic activity or other conditions considered unsafe by your guide.
• If we need to cancel the tour due to weather or safety conditions, we will contact you as early as possible.
• If we cancel the tour due to weather, you may choose to:

1. Rescheduled your tour to another available date or
2. Cancel without any charge.

Guest Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your reservation, cancellation fees may apply according to the timing of your cancellation. Please contact us as early as possible if your plans change. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcome you to Aso. 

CANCEL 7 – 2 DAYS PRIOR TO THE TOUR DATE	30% of the tour price
CANCEL 1 DAY PRIOR TO THE TOUR DATE	50% of the tour price
CANCEL ON THE TOUR DATE / NO SHOW	100% of the tour price

Cancellation fees apply only when the guest cancels. No cancellation fee will be charged if we cancel the tour due to weather, trail conditions or other safety reasons.
